Kampsporten MMA är omstridd – men på väg att bli helt accepterad.
I augusti är det dags för en historisk gala i Karlstad.
– Det blir en rejäl show, lovar Ronnie Johansson som tillsammans med Jani Lax och Kalle Larsson arrangerar galan.

Efter boxnings- och thaiboxningsgalor är det nu dags för ännu en kampsportsgala i Karlstad – i omdiskuterade Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) som är en blandning av flera olika kampsportstilar vilket namnet antyder.
Lördagen den 28 augusti arrangerar trion Ronnie Johansson, Jani Lax och Kalle Larsson, i samarbete med Karlstad Muay Thai och Hilti BJJ Karlstad, MMA-galan Vision Fighting Championship i Tingvallahallarna.
Det är den första galan i sitt slag i Värmland.
– Utan att vi ens gått ut med information om galan märker vi att intresset är väldigt stort, säger Ronnie Johansson som planerar en späckad fightingkväll.
– Målsättningen är att publiken ska få se en riktigt häftig show.
• Hur mycket publik räknar ni med?
– Något annat än fullsatt kan vi inte räkna med.
Fullsatt i Tingvallahallarna innebär mellan 1 300 och 1 500 åskådare.
– Intresset för MMA växer lavinartat och antalet aktiva blir bara fler och fler. Jag tror inte det blir några problem att fylla hallen, hävdar Jani Lax som själv är en veteran inom sporten.
Kampsporten är kontroversiell och har inte ansetts vara helt rumsren genom åren. 2009 blev idrotten invald i Svenska Budo & Kampsportsförbundet och anslöts därmed till Riksidrottsförbundet (RF). Hjärnforskare vid Karolinska institutet har sedan dess vid flera tillfällen kritiserat RF för det beslutet då de anser att ut-övarna löper stor risk för hjärnskador.
– Det är inte farligare än andra kampsporter. Allt är väldigt reglerat, hävdar Lax som nu förbereder sig på en comeback.

Kommande helg går han upp mot holländske Danny van Bergen vid en gala i Helsingfors. Lax har även tackat ja till en stormatch i Japan framöver.
– Det kan bli så att jag går en match även i vår gala, säger Lax.
Att arrangera galor i MMA är inte gjort i en handvändning. Stenhårda regler gäller för att få tillstånd.
– Det har tagit oss fyra månader att få alla tillstånd klara. Vi måste ha läkare, domare, och matchmakers som är sanktionerade av förbundet, förklarar Ronnie Johansson.

Dessutom måste länsstyrelsen i Örebro sanktionera tävlingen, precis som vid de boxningsgalor som arrangerats i Karlstad de senaste åren.
Vilka som dyker upp i Vision Fighting Championship är inte helt klart ännu. Men arrangörerna räknar med att Sverigeeliten och högt rankade internationella fighters kommer att finnas med. Runt tio matcher kommer att ingå i galan som troligen även kommer att sändas i tv.
Planen är att galan ska bli ständigt återkommande.
– Tanken är att arrangera en gala minst två gånger per år, säger Jani Lax.

MIXED MARTIAL ARTS
Modern Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) är designad för sparring och tävling och ambitionen är att ha så få tekniska begränsningar som möjligt men samtidigt säkerställa att ingen utövare skall få allvarliga skador. Gracie would go on to win UFC 2 and 4 as well. He was the most dominating in the sport, and opened the eyes of everyone across the world. In UFC 3, he didn’t lose, although he ran into a very tough fighter who nearly beat him. Gracie came back in UFC 5 for a superfight match up with Ken Shamrock, which would go the distance and end in a draw.

Other fighters have done exceptionally well in the UFC, although none of them had the impact as Royce Gracie. Fighters like Ken Shamrock, Dan Severn, Oleg Taktarov, Matt Hughes, and Matt Sylivia have also done very well. Matt Hughes is also regarded as one of the best, as he fights in the Welterweight class and is considered pound for pound to be the best fighter in the world.
In the world of MMA (Mixed Martial Arts), the UFC has made a big impact. In the beginning, there were no rules and no judges, just one on one fights until someone either tapped out, got knocked out, or the ref through in the towel. Fighters also fought in a tournament style as well, which took 3 fights to win the championship.

Over the years, there were several changes. The UFC would start with judges after a few years, along with eliminating the tournaments. The fights would eventually go to one on one, which was great for the fans. Although the fights didn’t have time limits in the beginning, they do now. The non title fights are three 5 minute rounds, while the title fights are five 5 minute rounds.
If a fight goes to the judges, the judges decide the winner. There are three judges, which normally change with each different UFC. Judges are there do determine the winner if there is no knockout or submission, while the ref is there to protect the fighters. The referee can stop a fight as well, if a fighter is unable to defend themselves.

With all the changes in the rules of the UFC, it’s only a matter of time before the UFC gains a lot more popularity. It is more popular today than it ever has been, which tells you that martial arts have come a long way. Martial arts is very popular these days, with competitions such as the UFC being one of the most popular sports in the world.

Man tränar för tävling inte för självförsvar och det är en fysiskt krävande idrott där den fysiska styrkan är en hörnsten även om det givetvis är viktigt med teknik och mentala egenskaper. Eftersom Shootfighting är så allsidig består träningen av många olika delar som t.ex. mittsträning (slag och sparkar på kuddar), sparring och positionsbrottning. För de litet mer avancerade ingår även taktikträning.

Huvudsätet i Europa är förlagt till Göteborg på Gladius MMA, under ledning av europaansvarige August Wallén. Matcherna går oftast i boxningsring, och går oftast i en rond på 5 eller 6 minuter. En match kan vinnas på 3 olika sätt: Domaren bryter matchen, Genom att man lyckas få in någon form av ledlås eller strypning på sin motståndare så personen klappar med foten, handen eller ger ett verbalt tecken för att visa att man ger upp, en så kallad submisson, Genom domslut (om matchtiden tar slut) Internationellt tillåter reglerna vinst på knockout. I Sverige togs dock detta bort inför inträde i Svenska Budo- och Kampsportsförbundet 2005.

Brasiliansk Jiujitsu eller BJJ är en brasiliansk variant av den traditionella japanska jujutsun. BJJ är till största delen markkamp, dvs. brottning med lås och strypningar. BJJ träningar är ofta väldigt lekfulla och mjuka även om tempot många gånger är hög.

Brasiliansk jiujitsu (Brasiliansk Jiujitsu, BJJ) är en brasiliansk variant på den traditionella japanska jujutsun. (Kallas ibland även Gracie Jiujitsu, eller GJJ) Historia Den brasilianska varianten av jujutsu är grundad av den brasilianska familjen Gracie.

Från Kodokan Judo (Kano Ryu Jiujitsu) lades grunden av Jigoro Kano och Maeda Mitsuyo till vad som idag kallas Brasiliansk Jiujitsu. 1915 flyttade Maeda till Brasilien där han blev känd som ”Conde Koma”, stridens greve. Carlos Gracie (numera kallad Carlos Sr.) började träna hos Maeda som 19-åring, ett sätt för Maeda att tacka Gestao, Carlos far, för all den hjälp han givit japanska invandrare. När Carlos blev lite äldre hade en ny typ av tävlingar spridit sig, Vale tudo. Carlos började tävla och mötte vem han än fick, oberoende av storlek och viktskillnad. Han förlorade inte en match. När han slutade tävla i Vale tudo, började han coacha sina yngre bröder, Oswaldo, Gastado, Jorge och Helio Gracie. Maeda åkte slutligen tillbaka till Japan men Gracie-familjen fortsatte att utveckla sin jujutsustil. 1925 öppnade den första Gracie JiuJitsu-klubben i Brasilien. Helio Gracie, den minste och yngste av bröderna fortsatte att utveckla teknikerna och dess tillämpningar.

I dag, nästan 100 år efter att Maeda kom till Japan, är Gracie-familjen känd för sin stil, skicklighet och resultat inom grappling, jujutsu och NHB / MMA.
Stilen BJJ är till största delen markkamp, dvs. brottning med lås och strypningar (submissions), eller newaza. På de flesta klubbar tränas inget stående, förutom nedtagningar. De flesta klubbar kör mer sparring och fys än andra jujutsustilar i Sverige. Det finns dock skillnader mellan de olika klubbarna. Man tränar både med och utan dräkt (gi eller kimono som den även heter). Bälterna går från vitt –> blått –> lila –> brunt –> svart. Barn under 16 har fler färger, då man enligt såväl CBJJ och CBJJO som IGJJF inte får gradera sig till blått förrän vid 16 års ålder.

Fäktning är konsten att strida med främst värja. Träningen innefattar mycket fotarbete och explosivitet. Något som är nödvändigt för att bli en duktig fäktare. Man har självklart på sig skyddsutrustning i form av en speciell jacka och hjälm som skyddar ner över halsen.
Fäktning är en västerländsk olympisk kampsport indelad i tre grenar: sabel, florett och värja. Grenarna utvecklades ur urgamla stridskonster som hade sin höjdpunkt under 1700-talet. Vad är fäktning? Fäktning är konsten att strida med blanka vapen och en sport med rötter i forntiden, sprungen ur själva kampen för överlevnad. Strider med blanka vapen anses ha praktiserats först i Ostasien och 4000 år gamla målningar i faraonernas gravar i Egypten vittnar om att svärdfäktning har utövats som sport eller som del i religiösa ceremonier. I romarriket företräddes fäktningen av gladiatorerna som under de offentliga festspelen duellerade på liv och död.

All modern fäktning tillämpar elektrisk stötmarkering. Det innebär att stötarna registreras med hjälp av utrustning i vapnen (och/eller kläder). Spetsen på värjan består av en fjädrande tryckkontakt. Längs värjan klinga löper två elektriska trådar som mynnar i en kontakt på insidan av vapnets parerskål som också kallas ”kokill”. I kontakten sätts en kroppsledning som leder till en fjädrande sladdvinda. Sladdvindan i sin tur är kopplad till en stötmarkeringsapparat belägen vid mitten av pisten. Vid stöt på giltig träffyta trycks vapnets spets in och bryter då strömkretsen och en lampa indikerar vem som fått stöten.

För att en stöt skall registreras krävs att vapnets spets trycks in med minst den kraft som behövs för att lyfta en 750 grams vikt. För florett fungerar systemet på liknande sätt, men det finns bara en elektrisk tråd på klingan, och registrering sker vid en kraft motsvarande minst den kraft som behövs för att lyfta en 500 grams vikt. Alla stötar registreras, om fäktarna får in varsin stöt inom 40 millisekunder räknas det i värjfäktning som en dubbelstöt och båda fäktarna får poäng. Om tidsskillnaden mellan två stötar är större visas endast den första av stötmarkeringsapparaten, och det blir endast poäng åt den fäktare som utdelade den stöten. För florett och sabel gäller andra tidsgränser. I de fall som två stötar , eller hugg i sabelfallet, registreras visar stötmarkeringsapparaten bägge stötarna. Detta leder dock inte till poäng för bägge fäktare – för dessa s.k. prioritetsvapen avgör domaren vilken fäktare hade prioritet, och ger en poäng åt denne. För alla tre vapen gäller även att om en fäktare kliver bakom sin kortsida, eller bakre begränsningslinje, med bägge fötterna så får motståndaren en poäng.

Fäktklädselns viktigaste uppgift är att vara skyddsutrustning. Man använder fäktbyxor och fäktjacka som båda skall tåla en belastning på 800 N. Vid tävlingar är det obligatoriskt att ha en så kallad plastrong under fäktjackan. Jacka + plastrong ger då tillsammans ett skydd på 1600 N. Jackan går upp i halsen och har en nedvikt flik för att förhindra att klingan kommer in i halsen eller ansiktet. För att skydda ansiktet använder man en fäktmask med visir av stålnät.
Det finns även sabelfäktmasker med visir i Lexan men de är ännu inte särskilt vanliga. Maskens skal måste också tåla 1600 N för att vara godkänd för större tävlingar. Maskens stålnät skall även det tåla 800 eller 1600 N, beroende på ålderskategori och tävlingstyp. På vapenhanden har man en handske med lång krage. Det finns inga krav på handsken mer än att den är obligatorisk.
